After completing a three year full time photography course at the London College of Printing, I worked as an assistant for a few years before setting up my own London studio.
Initially making my name specialising in studio 'still-life', it wasn’t long before I was able to use my ability to expand into other areas of photography, namely locations, people and food. In brief, using all these skills I worked with Advertising Agencies on a wide range of interesting & demanding assignments. With 20 years of experience behind me, I moved to North Devon - where I have worked for the last 16 years for some of the area’s largest brands. My images have been seen on posters, press, websites and other promotional media.
The acquisition of the new studio in March 2008 gave me the ability to expand the business, even in the current recessionary climate. Many existing and new clients have enjoyed the facilities that the studio offers and have found it to be a pleasant, relaxed atmosphere in which to work. The studio is well equipped and updated continuously. I am able to offer a full digital service together with Photoshop skills, alongside traditional film photography, processing and printing if required.
As for the future, I have a keen desire to extend my client base, taking advantage of all technological developments, merging them with my years of experience and expertise, to create engaging images that fulfill the needs of the client. Giving exceptional service, meeting tight deadlines and working to strict budgets has insured that I have a long standing relationship with most of my clients.
In an age where digital rules there is still no substitute for skill, knowledge and experience. Cameras have perhaps become easier to use, no longer requiring film or an understanding of that medium, but the ability to light an object has never been more important or in greater demand. In the months ahead, the ability to consistently provide quality photography at an affordable price is the cornerstone on which my whole business is based.
